Pai!

Pai (pronounced bye) is the furthest place north we will go. After a 3 hour journey up, down and through mountains, 762 turns in total, we arrived in a tiny little Thai village. After the busy cities it was so peaceful, quiet and tranquil. We stayed in a bamboo hut… It was … okay (see accommodation page for full review). We hired a moped and drove round the windey roads visiting the natural hot springs (you could boil eggs in the hottest spring!) and the amazing canyon! Small, high intertwining paths made up the canyon. In the open heat it was a desert!
The following day we took a cooking class. Brilliant! We are now official pros at Thai cooking! We ate a ridiculous amount of food and then went to a thai boxing afternoon. It was tough! And really confusing but lots of fun. In the evenings we would wander round the night market eating the yummy street food.
After a short stop over in Chiangmai (with a very poorly Doyle) we’ve made it to sukhothai… It seems veeeery quiet… So quiet that at 9pm we’re back at our hut (urghhh last ever one!) watching a film… We’ll let you know how we get on 💜
